Coast Park / City of Onkaparinga Foreshore Access Plan
and the Mid Coast Surfing Reserve Steering Committee (MCSR SC)
Coast Park is a State Government initiative to develop a linear park along the metropolitan Adelaide coastline from North Haven to Sellicks Beach. The park will include, where possible a continuous two way shared use path for walkers and cyclists along the coastal foreshore. Coast Park is identified as a priority in the 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide.
Within the City of Onkaparinga Council boundaries, Coast Park is delivered though Council’s Foreshore Access Plan (FAP) Citywide Concept. The Foreshore Access Plan (FAP) Citywide Concept provides a staged approach to planning, designing and delivering the 31km of coast park trail within the region. The program also reinforces the state government’s vision to enhance open space linkages, provide appropriately for traffic and parking and ensure safe and convenient access for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.
Future FAP stages which are within the Mid Coast Surfing Reserve boundaries include:
- FAP Stage 2 – Witton Centre, Port Noarlunga to Esplanade, Port Noarlunga South
- FAP Stage 4 – Port Noarlunga South to Pedler Creek, Moana
The MCSR SC and the broader community will have the opportunity to view the concept plans for future FAP stages, and provide comments and input which will be considered during the community engagement process. The MCSR SC plans to provide Council with information on specific areas of FAP that are of interest including issues and opportunities that are important to the committee.
